CHELCO set to provide new service for members 
CHELCO has entered into a partnership with TransWorld Network Corp. (TWN) to provide long distance service. Two years ago, CHELCO conducted a member survey concerning future service offerings, and approximately 6,000 respondents indicated that they would be interested in long distance service.

For any service CHELCO undertakes, the goal is to offer a service that benefits the communities and meets or exceeds expectations.

The TWN partnership will allow CHELCO to offer long distance, toll-free and calling cards at a competitive rate. The company also offers billing and payment options, including automatic bank withdrawal and credit card billing.

According to CHELCO Vice President of Member Services and Marketing Aaron Bradshaw, one of the best features of CHELCO’s new long distance program is superior customer service. “You will always get a live person when you call,” Bradshaw says. “The hold time is generally less than 30 seconds, and you don’t get put into a voice mail cycle that goes on and on.”

In addition, using CHELCO long distance service is a snap, Bradshaw adds. You don’t have to call any long combination of numbers to access long distance and get the great rate. Once you’ve signed up for CHELCO long distance, you simply dial the number you’re calling just the same as you always have, he explains.

The new service is available now, and there are three ways to sign up. The first way is to call a toll-free number – 1-877-893-8917. A second way is to complete a Letter of Agency, available at any CHELCO area office, and leave it at the office. The third way to sign up is electronically by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page. Simply, fill out the form and you’re all set.

Once you’ve signed up, your long distance service will be switched to TWN within 7-10 business days, then you will receive a welcome packet and a free calling card. In addition, a free 800 number is also available, and if you choose this option, you will receive your number at this time.

You’ll receive an invoice once a month unless your monthly invoice is less than $5. A bill will be sent after three months or when the invoice exceeds $5, whichever comes first. TWN provides a return envelope with each invoice.

TWN charges no monthly service charges and there’s no monthly minimum charge, according to Bradshaw. You pay only for what you use. In addition, the rates are low, and the same great rates apply day or night any day of the year.

State-to-state calls are 5.9 cents per minute, while rates within Florida are 6.9 cents per minute. Billing is in 6 second increments after the first 30 seconds, so you never pay for more than you need.
