Report on Review and Proposed Revisions
CHELCO’s Board of Trustees is recommending approval of its revision of the Cooperative bylaws. On January 16, 2025, CHELCO’s Board of Trustees completed a review and revision of the Cooperative’s bylaws. Since the last revision in 2018, further organizational and procedural changes at CHELCO have caused parts of the bylaws to be in need of update. Again, CHELCO’s Board of Trustees is recommending approval of its revision of the Cooperative’s bylaws. Voting Yes for approval will adopt a complete set of bylaws as revised.
With the many technological changes that have arisen in recent years CHELCO is proposing to modernize its governance bylaws. Allowing for more flexibility in our electronic communications is the primary reason for revising the bylaws in 2025. However, because this process is usually only performed every few years, we are also proposing other revisions and updates to the bylaws. A sampling of some of those areas of change follows –
