Election FAQ

CHELCO trustee elections take place every spring.

There are nine members on CHELCO’s Board of Trustees, and every year, three of those seats are up for election.

Candidates must be in good standing and live in their district for at least one year before running.

Your current district number can be found on your bill.

Trustee election packets will be available beginning in January at any CHELCO office or at CHELCO.com.

A nominating committee reviews the applications and selects candidates. Members may also use a petition process, which is described in the bylaws on our website, to become a candidate.

All members are eligible to participate in voting each year.

Results of the election are announced at CHELCO’s annual meeting, which is held in April.

Members may obtain a copy of the CHELCO bylaws to learn the entire election procedure.
