Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CHELCO) appointed Robin Shaw as Vice President of Finance in March. Shaw previously served as CHELCO’s Manager of Accounting for six years, and she was promoted to her current role upon the retirement of Chief Financial Officer Wayne Thompson.

“CHELCO is such an exciting place to work,” Shaw said. “My job is constantly evolving as the cooperative environment changes, and I enjoy the challenge. But I also enjoy working with a team that is so committed to service to our membership.”

Shaw has a Bachelor’s of Science in both Accounting and Finance from Florida State University and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 2002.

CHELCO CEO Steve Rhodes said that Shaw has big shoes to fill in Thompson’s retirement, but he’s confident that she can handle the task.

“Robin is very deserving of this promotion, and I know she will do an outstanding job in her new role,” Rhodes said.

Shaw embodies the CHELCO spirit of community involvement, serving as Treasurer of the Walton County Education Foundation. She was previously a student mentor for the Take Stock in Children Program for six years and served on the Northwest Florida State College Foundation Board for three years.

As Vice President of Finance, Shaw will be responsible for overseeing the CHELCO finance division, which includes Accounting, Meter Services, Revenue and Billing, and Purchasing.

CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 53,000 member accounts in Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa and Holmes counties.
