DeFuniak Springs, Fla. (March 18, 2020) – At CHELCO, we provide an essential service to our members and our communities. To comply with local, state, and national recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we are closing our offices for in-person transactions effective Thursday, March 19. The safety and well-being of our members and employees is our top priority.

We are taking these steps to limit face-to-face contact as we do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19. We have activated our business continuity response plan and our business operations will continue by telephone and electronic means, including our field operations, energy control center and call center. We will tentatively reopen Monday, May 11.

Members can pay their bill by mail, phone, kiosk, at CHELCO.com through the account portal, in the CHELCO Connect app, or put it in the drop boxes located at all area offices. Now is a good time to establish an online account to pay your bill or report an outage or service need.

We are working with members who are economically impacted by current events. Members who are experiencing hardships due to COVID-19 should call (800) 342-0990 to discuss payment options or account status. Our call center is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-4 pm.

CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 53,000 member accounts in Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa and Holmes counties.
